With the goal of raising awareness among students about employment opportunities in commerce, IT, and computer fields, pre-placement training for Job Fest 2024 was organised on Thursday at Sector-1 College, Panchkula. Students from five government colleges in the district actively participated in this training.
College Principal Dr. Yashpal Singh inaugurated the program and congratulated the students on their outstanding performance in the job fest. Singh emphasised the importance of students seizing the golden opportunities provided by the college.
Manoj Sehgal, a senior trainer of the program, highlighted the abundant career opportunities available for students, emphasising the need for them to adapt to the evolving requirements. Sehgal emphasised that students should not only focus on academic skills but also strive for practical employment to secure a better future. He provided training on resume writing to the students. Corporate trainers Sukhjeev Bajaj and Amanjot Kaur offered detailed information on communication skills and provided essential tips for interviews.
Dr. Chitra Tanwar, in-charge of Pre Placement Training and Job Fest, addressed the career-related queries of the students and shed light on various employment opportunities and preparations. Pre-placement training aimed to provide students access to employment in commerce, banking, IT, data entry operation, and computing. The program was coordinated by Prof. Naveen Jangra, and several professors and students from various faculties, including Prof. Pooja, Prof. Ankita, Dr. Vidhi Mann, Dr. Anurag Chahal, Dr. Parvesh, Prof. Shreyasi, Dr. Sheetal, Prof. Alka, and Prof. Pankaj Hooda, were present.
It is noteworthy that a district-level job fest is scheduled to be organised in the college on Friday, 2nd February, in which students from Aruna Asaf Ali Government College, Kalka, GC Barwala, GC Raipur Rani, Shri Mata Mansa Devi Government Sanskrit College, and Government Women’s College from Panchkula, along with Sector-1 College, will participate.
