Shalu Gupta, the founder and coordinator of the Pranam India Foundation, taught children new skills at Government Primary Sanskrit School, Fatehpur, Sector 20, Panchkula. Shalu mentioned that schools are places where children learn many important lessons in life. However, there are also certain habits and rules that are overlooked. If children are taught some skills at school, it can potentially improve their future and make life easier. Shalu, along with her NGO, discussed with the children the importance of making eye contact and sharing when talking to someone. Sharing means teaching children to be unselfish, help others, and learn compassion. Children were taught to share books, pencils, and other items with their friends at school, besides sharing lunch. She emphasized the importance of teaching children the habit of agreeing with others. In today’s world, most adults struggle with agreeing with others’ opinions or advice. It’s a very basic habit that children should develop. When children learn to listen to others’ views and agree with what’s right, they can give respect to their peers. The school principal and teacher, Rita and Sandeep, were also present on this occasion and praised the commendable work of Shalu Gupta and the Pranam India Foundation.
