Amid Shah’s efforts to garner tribal votes, Congress assigned veteran tribal leader Kantilal Bhuria to counter BJP’s campaign. With BJP losing ground in the tribal belt in the previous assembly poll, Shah personally oversees the state party’s outreach. Despite his visit to Indore to boost the booth-wise campaign, the BJP outreach in other areas fell short, an oversight the Congress capitalized on by tasking Bhuria with the tribal belt, where Congress performed well in the last election.
