Post-MP polls: BJP, Cong clash in officers’ misconduct allegations

In the aftermath of the Madhya Pradesh state assembly elections, a wave of complaints has erupted, pitting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) against the Congress in a bitter exchange. Allegations of misconduct during the election process have been hurled from both sides, with administrative and police officers caught in the crossfire.
The BJP has raised complaints against several officers, citing irregularities and improprieties. Raju Bafna, the Collector of Narsinghpur, is accused of irregularities in voting due to collusion with Congress workers. Bhaskar Laxakar, the Collector of Ratlam, faces allegations of deliberate slow-paced voting to influence the voting process. Sanjeev Shrivastav, the Collector of Bhind, is accused of using a scooter and bike for electioneering a day before voting. Ankit Jayaswal, the SP of Nivari, is under complaint, demanding his removal.
In response, the Congress has filed counter-complaints against officers, presenting their own set of allegations. Subhash Kumar Dwivedi, the Collector of Ashoknagar, faces demand for removal based on a High Court order to remove him from election duty. Deepak Arya, the Collector of Sagar, is accused of reducing expenses for the benefit of candidate Govind Rajput. Saket Malviya, the Collector of Sidhi, is alleged to have violated Election Commission guidelines in the appointment of CEO.
Anurag Verma, the Collector of Satna, faces allegations of participation in RSS programmes with Sangh officials. Raju Bafna, the Collector of Narsinghpur, is under complaint after a recommendation to keep him in the district, following a letter to the Election Commission. Sandeep Makin, the Collector of Datia, is accused of supporting the Home Minister, with demands for action and removal. Sanjeev Shrivastav, the Collector of Bhind, faces a memorandum submitted by Congress to the CEO MP Election, seeking removal and alleging BJP affiliation.
The conflict extends to IPS officers, with the Congress accusing Morena SP Shailendra Singh Chauhan of supporting BJP candidates during elections. Additional demands for action were made against SPs in Datia and Jabalpur, along with complaints against Chhatarpur Collector Sandeep Jiar and SP Amit Sanghi. Furthermore, there are complaints against Narsinghpur Collector Raju Bafna from both political parties.
