“I am happy to be in BJP,” says Maneka Gandhi

After BJP MP Varun Gandhi was denied a ticket from his constituency, his mother and fellow BJP MP, Maneka Gandhi, spoke out during her 10-day visit to Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur, expressing her satisfaction with her affiliation to the party.

In response to questions about Varun Gandhi’s future plans, she responded, “Ask him what he wants to do. We will consider this after the elections. There is time.”

Expressing her contentment with being part of the BJP, she thanked Amit Shah, PM Modi, and Nadda Ji for granting her the ticket. She noted the delayed announcement of the ticket, which had left her torn between Pilibhit and Sultanpur, and praised the party’s decision regarding her candidacy in Sultanpur.

Reflecting on her return to Sultanpur, she remarked, “I am very happy that I came back to Sultanpur because this place has a history where no MP came back into power again in Sultanpur.” This marked her first visit since receiving the ticket, during which she planned to visit 101 villages across the entire Lok Sabha constituency.

During her visit, Maneka Gandhi was warmly welcomed by party leaders and workers at various locations, including Katka Guptarganj, Tatianagar, Tedhui, Golaghat, Shahganj Square, Dariyapur Tiraha, and Payagipur Square. Additionally, she paid respects to the statues of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay.

Present among the welcoming party were BJP District President Dr. RA Verma, BJP State Minister Meena Choubey, Lok Sabha in-charge Durgesh Tripathi, Lok Sabha convenor Jagjit Singh Changu, MLA Raj Prasad Upadhyay, MLA Rajesh Gautam, and spokesperson Vijay Raghuvanshi.

Previously, Varun Gandhi had penned a heartfelt letter to his constituents in Pilibhit, expressing his enduring connection with the constituency until his last breath.
