BJP Alleges Congress’ Sonia Gandhi-Soros Foreign Link

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused former Congress president Sonia Gandhi of associating with organizations funded by billionaire George Soros, suggesting a foreign influence on India’s internal affairs. The BJP highlighted Gandhi’s role as co-president of the Forum of Democratic Leaders in Asia Pacific (FDL-AP) Foundation, an entity allegedly financed by the George Soros Foundation. The party expressed concerns that the FDL-AP Foundation has previously advocated for Kashmir’s independence, raising questions about external involvement in India’s domestic matters.

The BJP also pointed to Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s acknowledgment of Soros as an “old friend” and shared a photograph of Salil Shetty, vice president of the Soros-funded Open Society Foundation, with Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. These instances, according to the BJP, indicate a pattern of association between Congress leaders and Soros-funded entities.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey announced plans to question Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha regarding the alleged collaboration between opposition leaders, the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), and George Soros. Dubey claimed that this alliance aims to undermine India’s economy and tarnish the Modi government’s image, particularly through attacks on the Adani Group.

These allegations follow the BJP’s earlier claims that the U.S. “deep state” is working with OCCRP and opposition leaders to destabilize India. However, the U.S. embassy has denied these accusations, emphasizing its commitment to media freedom.

The Congress party has yet to respond to these recent allegations. The situation continues to develop, with potential implications for India’s political landscape and its relations with foreign entities.
