With around one year left in the assembly polls in Haryana, new political developments continue to surface in the state. All parties are on their toes to strengthen their positions in a bid to ensure their win in the forthcoming elections. In continuation of the aforesaid, the most discussed issue these days is which party is likely to form an alliance with whom in the coming assembly elections. A few days ago, BJP MP Brijendra Singh and his father, Birender Singh, gave their opinions on the matter, which led to political ruckus and speculation. They advised that the ruling BJP should contest the forthcoming assembly battle alone as the party is pretty strong to win the elections.
Reacting to Birender Singh’s suggestion of contesting the elections alone, state president of the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), Nishan Singh, took a dig at him, stating, “Who is seeking advice from Birender Singh?” There is an alliance of BJP-JJP. Both parties had formed a coalition government with mutual consent. Both parties have run the government successfully so far, and in light of this, it is beyond comprehension what makes him give such statements.
Apart from the aforementioned, the murmur of an alliance between the INLD and the Congress, which were once bitter rivals, continues to surface. Bhupinder Singh Hooda and INLD leader Om Prakash Chautala have had many meetings in the last few times, which resulted in new political speculations. OP Chautala has also indicated that he has no objection to forming an alliance with the Congress in the upcoming elections. Political experts are of the opinion that an alliance between both parties is the need of the hour as both are facing exile from power.
Notably, Chaudhary Chaudhary Birender Singh and Dushyant Chautala hail from eminent political families, and in the last parliamentary elections, Birendra Singh’s son Brijendra Singh defeated Dushyant Chautala in the Lok Sabha elections.
