As the assembly and the parliamentary polls draw near, all parties are gearing up for the same and Haryana continues to witness uproar in the political corridors as all factions including the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and its ally Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) and the opposition parties namely Congress, Indian National Lok Dal and AAM Aadmi Party (AAP), an entrant in the states politics. are trying to dominate each other in the power game. Apart from this, all the parties have been mulling over caste equations.

In this situation, BJP and Congress, the main ruling and the main opposition parties respectively, have started to come up with foolproof strategies to woo voters. The Congress stalwart Bhupender Singh Hooda came up with a statement to appoint Deputy Chief Minister from the Brahmin community after the party returns in power which led to new political speculations and discussions ahead of polls. In Haryana, Congress and BJP vie to woo Brahmin voters. The Brahmin community plays a key role in the state politics and constitutes a sizable vote bank i.e. around 10 to 12 percent vote bank In wake of this, no party seems in a position to neglect the Brahmin voters. It is a huge list of the leaders belonging to the community.

The leaders from the community in the ruling BJP and opposite parties include Rambilas, Venod Sharma and Kartikey Sharyam father-son duo, Kuldeep Sharma Sharma, RC Kaushik, Arvind Sharma and many more. Notably, Arvind Sharma and RC Kaushik emerged victorious from Rohtak and Sonipat parliamentary seats in 20129 defeating Bhupender Singh Hooda-Deepender Singh Hooda, father son duo, a setback to Congress then. The BJP has fielded all of its Brahmin leaders to woo the voters from the community.

The Brahmin leaders have been demanding for a long time to appoint the Chief Minister from the community and pertaining to the same, politics is in full swing regarding this matter and all the political parties are trying to take political mileage from the issue. Venod Sharma, former union minister, is a reputed and eminent politician. He is pretty influential among all sections of the society and enjoys huge popularity. On the footprints his father, Kartikey Sharma, has established himself in the state politics at a fast pace and has widespread acceptability among all sections of the society. It is pertinent to mention that proving his mettle, Kartikey Sharma played a pivotal role in the successful conduct of Brahmin Mahasammelan held in 2022 in Karnal.

A grand convention of the Brahmin community was organized in Karnal in Haryana. MP Kartikeya Sharma left no stone unturned to make it a big success. The conference was very successful and the credit for it went largely to Kartikeya Sharma and the CM was present in it as the chief guest.

Estimatedly, about 10 to 12 percent of the voters in the state are from the community. In such a situation, no party seems in a position to ignore the people of the community. Keeping in view the upcoming elections, all the parties have started cultivating the Brahmin vote bank.
