Politics in Haryana has reached its peak these days. Rahul Gandhi’s  Bharat Jodo which witnessed its completion in the state on 11 January, has given a boost to the Congress witnessing infighting among the party stalwarts. The Congress stalwarts are overwhelmed by the successful conduct of the yatra and with the crowd gathering in the yatra. In a bid to neutralize the impact of the yatra, the saffron BJP is on toes and mulling over every possible aspect. In this series, the BJP has decided to conduct a rally in Gohana which will be addressed by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah.  Amit Shah, through the rally, will set the tone for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Besides, the elections to the 90-member Assembly are due in the state later next year. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will on 29 January, address a grand public rally in the Gohana assembly which falls in the Sonipat parliament seat. This assumes significance as it is happening following the completion of Bharat Joda Yatra which enjoyed widespread popularity across the state. Amit Shah will uproar in Gohana which is known as the bastion of Hooda.  Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra is also being considered as a part of the preparations for the forthcoming elections. In reaction to this, BJP has  come up with conducting the rally by the end of this month. Despite successfully forming a government in collaboration with the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), the BJP does not seem in a strong position in the state as it failed to get a full majority in assembly polls held in 2019.  During his yatra,  Rahul Gandhi walked 255 kms focusing on 7 districts. In the first phase, he covered Nuh, Faridabad and Gurugram districts and succeeded in setting a tone for the party which was evident from the crowd witnessed during the yatra. Further, in the second phase, he concentrated on the BJP dominated 4 districts falling on the GT Road belt. He also visited the hometurf Karnal and Ambala, the home turf of CM Manohar Khattar and Home Minister Anil Vij respectively. Similarly, with an intention to woo the voters in Jat belt, the BJP has come with a plan to conduct the rally in Gohana which is dominated by Hooda. The political experts are of the opinion that the significance of the rally will not be confined to Gohana only but also to the adjoining districts namely Jind, Rohtak, Panipat and Jhajjar districts  Notably, the Bharat Jodo Yatra has managed to capture the imagination of the people in the state. People from all walks of life joined the Yatra which brought a groundswell of support to the party. It has also built-up steam for its avowed intent to fight the BJP in the state.
