With the polling dates in the national capital inching closer and campaigning getting murkier with war of words escalating between the BJP and the Congress, grand old party candidate from North East Delhi Kanhaiya Kumar slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi of spreading lies on ots manifesto and dared him to show the point of wealth redistribution in its nyay patra.

Speaking exclusively to ITV network, Kanhaiya, who is also known for his oratory skills took a jibe at the Prime Minister for his comments on wealth redistribution and Congress eyeing manglasutra of women, he said, “He (Modji) is spreading falsehood. There is no mention of taking away properties of any individual or wealth redistribution in Congress manifesto.”

I dare the BJP and the Prime Minister to show these points in our manifesto, he remarked.
He also said that the Prime Minister is spreading lies to avoid showing their own results in last 10 years.

“They are doing this (spreading lies) to divert attention from the unfulfilled promises they made to the people of the country in last years,” Kanhaiya said.

The Congress leader also slammed the BJP government at the centre for raking all these issues ahead of the elections to avoid cross questioning by the people of the country. He further said that the Congress manifesto is in open domain and anyone can view it whether the party has talked about wealth redistribution or not.

“Instead of all these we have talked about 5 nyay and 25 guarantees, and how we plan to empower the people of the country and provide more power to them through our nari nyay, kisan nyay among others,” the Congress leader said.

When asked about the Prime Minister raking up the issue of Congress providing the OBC reservation to Muslims in Karnataka, Kanhaiya said, “If a person sitting on the position of Prime Minister is indulging in spreading lies then it is a very serious issue.”

And whatever he is saying are mere allegation, and to prove that we have everything mentioned in our manifesto, which is where for everyone to see, he said.

He also added that the Prime Minister must also talk about the manifesto of his party as there is record unemployment in the country, people are facing issue of inflation and farmers incomes have not doubled in last 10 years as promised.

When pressed further if Congress will face the repercussions of the Prime Minister’s remarks, he said, “Congress votes will not get damaged with such blatant lies being spread against it. This time people have decided to vote for the INDIA bloc.”

To a question that Election Commission has issued a notice to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and BJP national president JP Nadda over the alleged violation of Model of conduct by Mosi and Rahul Gandhi, he said, “Election Commission is an institution and its freedom must be ensured. But the Election Commission must also ensure that they don’t follow selective approach and there is no need to balance things.”

When asked if he considers his candidature against BJP two time MP Manoj Tiwari, who is also a Bhojpuro singer and actor, he said, “I don’t consider it as a challenge. The challenge in northeast constituency of Delhi is for the BJP and its MP. For the last 10 years they were in power and the representative from the seat and they need to give the report of the work they had carried out there. And the people of the Lok Sabha constiruency will give the final verdict on the basis of the work.”

When pointed.oit that Towari has claimed that he has carried out works worth Rs 14,000 crore in North East Delhi, Kanhaiya said, “I have visited several areas of the constituency and I have not found a single board mentopning name of Tiwari for the work which he carried out there.”

To another question Tiwari saying rhY he is a member of Tukde tukde gang and he has come on political yatra for next 40 days, Kanhaiya said, “I don’t take the allegations of BJP seriously. But as they have alleged that I am member of tukde tukde gang, then he wants to say that Jay Shah’s father (Amit Shah, who is Union Home Minister) is not working efficiently in the government.”

“For the last 10 years they have their government.
They (BJP) got arrested two chief Ministers (Jharkhand former CM Hemant Soren and Delhi Chief Minister Arvond Kejriwal). Do you think I would be roaming free if the charges were proven against me.”

To another question about the protest over his candidature from the seat, he said, “There is no protest. And even if people are protesting then it is good thing for Congress as there are many candidates who are seeking ricket from the constituency.”

Kanhaiya also thanked the party and INDIA bloc parties for giving him opportunity to contest from rhe northeast seat.
