PM MODI UNVEILS MULTIPLE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS IN U.P.

PM attacks Samajwadi Party, says ‘red caps’ are red alert for UP; in joint rally with RLD’s Jayant Chaudhary, Akhilesh Yadav says BJP govt has failed in Uttar Pradesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated development projects worth over Rs 9,600 crore on Tuesday in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur. Governor Anandiben Patel and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also present at the event.

PM Modi pointed out that the Bharatiya Janata Party governments at the Centre and Uttar Pradesh were like “double engines, working with double speed” for development. The Prime Minister said that when work is done with a good intention, even disasters do not become a hindrance. “I had come here 5 years ago to lay the foundation stone of AIIMS and a fertilizer factory. You have given me the privilege of launching these two together today. The Regional Medical Research Center of ICMR has also got its new building today. I congratulate the people of Uttar Pradesh,” PM Modi said.

Earlier today, PM Modi watched an exhibition of the development projects in Gorakhpur. PM Modi inaugurated the Gorakhpur fertilizer plant, AIIMS Gorakhpur and ICMR-Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), Gorakhpur.

In a veiled attack on Samajwadi Party, PM Modi termed those with “red caps” as red alert for Uttar Pradesh and said that they want to form the government in the state to show mercy to terrorists and set them free. “Today, the entire Uttar Pradesh knows very well that those with red caps have been concerned with the red beacon, not with your miseries. Red caps people need power, for scams, to fill their coffers, for illegal occupations, and to give free hand to the mafia,” PM Modi said while addressing an event. “Those with red caps wish to form the government, to show mercy to the terrorists, to get the terrorists out of jail. Red caps people are red alert for UP,” he added.

Slamming the Opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh, the Prime Minister said, “Everyone knew that the demand for AIIMS in Gorakhpur was being raised for years. But those who were running the state government before 2017 made all kinds of excuses to give land for AIIMS.”

“Everyone knew how important the fertilizer plant of Gorakhpur is for the farmers of this entire region, for generating employment here. But the earlier governments did not show any interest in starting it,” PM Modi said.

Appreciating Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s efforts, the Prime Minister said, “Earlier governments had defamed the name of Uttar Pradesh by giving protection to criminals. Today mafia is in jail and investors are investing openly in Uttar Pradesh. That’s the double evolution of the double engine. That’s why Uttar Pradesh has faith in double engine government.”

Uttar Pradesh CM Adityanath targeted the Opposition parties and said that Gorakhpur fertilizer factory was shut from 1990 until 2014 and only the BJP government had the courage to restart it.

“This inauguration program today is like a dream come true for the people in East UP which was impossible for the opposition. 5 governments came and went in UP in the last 30 years. Only the BJP government had the courage to start this fertilizer factory in Gorakhpur,” Adityanath said. “The fertilizer factory was shut in 1990 and until 2014; no one took the initiative to restart it. Gorakhpur was fighting medical issues for 40 years and thousands died because of the negligence of the state and central governments. Today UP reaches a milestone of 17 crore vaccines,” he said.

Meanwhile, a report from Meerut said that ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Jayant Chaudhary held their first joint rally in Meerut. The SP chief Akhilesh Yadav termed the rally a “voice of change” and said that the anger of the farmers and the youth would go to defeat the BJP in the forthcoming polls in the state. During the rally, Yadav said, “People in Meerut want a change; youngsters do not have jobs in Uttar Pradesh, farmers here want to get rid of the BJP government. They have defrauded the farmers; their promises were fake. Sugarcane farmers want their due payments.”

Addressing the rally, the SP leader said: ‘The BJP’s sun is certain to set and set forever. The support of the public is telling us that farmers will have their say now. The farmers have been crushed and their dignity taken away, the farmers have made up their mind that BJP will have to go from UP and they will be wiped out.” Yadav added that BJP’s “double engine government has failed” in the state.

Further, the Samajwadi Party Chief said that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath “should inform the Prime Minister that the foundation stone of Poorvanchal Expressway was laid down by the Samajwadi Party”. “They should also think about the farmers who were killed in Lakhimpur Kheri,” he added.

Addressing the rally, RLD president Jayant Chaudhary hit out at Yogi Adityanath and said that the latter was happy only when he was among his cattle. ‘’I request you (people) to make sure that he is free after the polls so that he can spend all his time among cattle.” The RLD chief also took a jibe at the CM referring to a recent question paper leak of the UP Teachers’ Eligibility Test-2021 (UPTET) as well as an incident in Bijnor where BJP MLA was left fuming when a portion of a newly renovated road broke during a traditional innaguration ceremony after being struck by a coconut.

“There are exams in UP but papers get leaked, when you inaugurate the road in Bijnor, the road breaks as soon as the coconut is broken,” the RLD chief said. Jayant Chaudhary also said that “farmers have made a huge sacrifice, we cannot forget how farmers were crushed and more than 700 farmers were martyred.” “Today I want to say that Akhilesh ji and I are walking together and will now form a double engine government. We will honour our martyr farmers in Meerut as soon as our government is formed,” he said. The RLD chief said that they will gather in Aligarh on 23 December and mark “Kisan Diwas”.
