Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to watch the Hindi film ‘The Sabarmati Report’ on Monday at the Parliament Library in New Delhi.
The film, which stars Vikrant Massey, Ridhi Dogra, and Raashii Khanna, is based on the 2002 Godhra train burning incident that killed 59 people. This event sparked communal riots in Gujarat, claiming over 1,000 lives, primarily Muslims. At that time, PM Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
Actor Vikrant Massey and the film’s producer Ekta Kapoor will join the Prime Minister at the Balyogi Auditorium for the screening.
Following the release of the film last month, PM Modi stated, “A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period before the facts come out.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also praised the film, saying that “truth cannot be hidden in darkness forever” and that the film “defies the ecosystem with unparalleled courage and exposes the truth behind the fateful episode to broad daylight.”
