Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to reveal development projects totaling more than Rs 19,600 crore in Odisha during his visit to the state on Tuesday, coinciding with the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik. Projects span diverse sectors such as oil and gas, railways, roads, transport, highways, and atomic energy.

In preparation for the PM’s visit, Inspector General of Police Ashish Kumar Singh confirmed robust security measures, deploying over 3000 police forces under senior officers’ command.

PM Modi’s itinerary includes inaugurating the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd’s mono ethylene glycol project in Paradip refinery, contributing to reduced import dependency. He will also dedicate a 344-km-long product pipeline from Paradip to Haldia. Additionally, the PM will inaugurate a 0.6 MMTPA LPG import facility at Paradip to enhance import infrastructure on the eastern coast.

Several road projects are on the agenda, including the four-laning of Singhara to Binjabahal section of NH-49, Binjabahal to Tileibani section of NH-49, Balasore-Jharpokharia section of NH-18, and Tangi-Bhubaneswar section of NH-16. PM Modi will arrive at Chandikhole in Jajpur district, addressing a public gathering around 3:30 pm.

On the birth anniversary of Biju Patnaik, the PM will lay the foundation stone for the eight-laning of Chandikhole-Paradip road. He will also dedicate the 162-km-long Bansapani-Daitari-Tomka-Jakhapura rail line, enhancing transportation efficiency for iron and manganese ore. The PM will inaugurate a 5-mld seawater desalination plant at Odisha Sands Complex, part of indigenous desalination technologies developed by the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. During his last visit on February 3, PM Modi unveiled projects worth over Rs 68,000 crore in the state.
