Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a big housing project for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in Maharashtra’s Solapur next month. Maharashtra Housing Development Authority Vice chairman, Sanjeev Jaiswal told TDG that the project based in Rainagar, Solapur, is spread over 100 acres and involves the construction of 30,000 houses, out of which 15,000 houses have already been built.
Jaiswal said that the biggest housing scheme for the economically weaker section is now in the final stages of construction at a place called Rainagar in Solapur.
He added that Prime Minister Modi is coming to inaugurate it next month.
He said each house is of 300 square feet and will cost the beneficiaries Rs 6 lakh.
According to Jaiswal, only those people will be eligible for this scheme, whose family income per year is less than Rs 3 lakh.
MHADA is completing this project, which is also supported by the Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
It is a group of 7 housing societies and the beneficiaries include unorganized workers, textile workers, beedi workers, construction sector workers, rag pickers and garment manufacturing sector workers, he added.
This is one of the biggest and ambitious project of the country, and MHADA is working strenuously to execute the vision of Prime Minister for Economic Weaker Section of the society.
