Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in the opening ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on January 22, marking a momentous occasion for the nation.
Expressing his deep sense of privilege, PM Modi mentioned in a social media post that he considers himself fortunate to witness this historic event in his lifetime. He shared his emotions and recounted how he was invited by the officials of Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Tirtha Kshetra during their recent visit to his residence.
Shri Ram Janambhoomi Trust’s Champat Rai has officially confirmed that the installation of the Lord Ram idol at the temple will take place on January 22, and PM Modi has graciously accepted the invitation.
The trust’s plans for the consecration ceremony include inviting more than 25,000 Hindu religious leaders representing 136 Sanatana traditions. Alongside these 25,000 saints, there will be an additional 10,000 “special guests” in attendance.
It is worth noting that the construction of the Ram temple was made possible following a Supreme Court verdict in November 2019, after which the Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Tirtha Kshetra was established by the government to oversee the construction process.
Progress on the temple’s construction has been steady under the trust’s supervision, and the idol of Ram Lalla will soon find its place in the temple’s sanctum sanctorum. PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the temple on August 5, 2020.
Mohan Bhagwat, the leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which serves as the ideological mentor to the BJP, called on people across the country to organize celebratory programs at temples to mark this significant occasion.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to beautify Ayodhya and provide modern urban facilities in preparation for the inauguration.
