During his recent visit to Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a sharp dig at opposition parties Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing them of “depriving the youth of opportunities” by promoting dynastic politics. Speaking at an event in his parliamentary constituency, Modi said, “The country is facing a huge threat from pariwarvad (nepotism).”
PM Modi stressed that parties like Congress and SP have historically harmed the country’s youth by prioritizing family politics over merit. “They never believe in giving opportunities to the youth. That is why I appealed from the Red Fort to bring one lakh such youth into politics whose family has nothing to do with politics,” he emphasized.
Modi accused both parties of neglecting Varanasi’s development. “Be it the Samajwadi Party or Congress, Varanasi’s progress was never their priority, and it won’t be in the future either,” he remarked. He further claimed that his government follows an ideology of “sabka vikas” (development for all), contrasting it with the politics of appeasement.
The prime minister encouraged the youth of Uttar Pradesh, particularly those without any political background, to enter the political arena to oppose dynastic politics. “The dynasts have harmed the youth of this country the most,” Modi declared, rallying for fresh political participation from non-political youth.
As part of his visit, PM Modi launched several development projects worth over ₹6,700 crore, including the RJ Shankara Eye Hospital and the Sigra Sports Stadium in Varanasi. These initiatives, he noted, reflect his government’s commitment to both modernizing infrastructure and creating employment opportunities for the youth.
Outlining his vision, PM Modi highlighted that his government’s twin goals are to enhance citizens’ comfort and generate employment. “Today, new highways, railway routes, and airports are being constructed across the country. This is not just a work of stone and iron, but it is increasing convenience for the people and creating jobs for the youth,” he said.
Modi concluded by comparing the progress under his government with previous administrations, stating, “Earlier, scams dominated the headlines. Today, that is no longer the case, and the focus is on development.”
