Amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha election phase 5, PM Modi recently gave an exclusive interview to NDTV. During the interview, he disclosed, the government is planning to bring some changes in bureaucracy and make the decision-making process more useful to implement big schemes using technology.

Talking to NDTV’s Editor-in-Chief Sanjay Pugalia about it, PM Modi recently gave an example of technology usage in surveying Indian islands and said,

“India has approximately 1,300 islands. I was surprised to know that we did not have a record or survey of these islands. With the help of space technology, we surveyed them, and some islands are the same size as Singapore. It means for India, building new Singapore’s is not difficult if we do it.” We are working on bringing change in the functioning of bureaucracy and the decision-making process for implementing schemes. “Said PM Modi.

Further responding to a follow-up question posed by Mr Pugalia over PM’s Singapore reference, PM Modi said, a huge change will take place.

Mr Pugalia:”If we are talking about infrastructure or development, we can expect a lot of changes happening soon.”

In response PM Modi said, “A lot of changes will take place.”

Talking more about technology, the prime minister further revealed, they are planning to promote the vision of Digital embassy.

Elaborating more on it, he emphasized, that this tool will play a crucial role in empowering poor and inequality gap. Thus, digital revolution will play a bigger role in bringing this change.

Later, the prime minister also declared, that India will lead in the world of Artificial intelligence. As India contains power of data due to its diversity.

During the interview, he also recounted his experience with content gaming creators and said,

“I recently met gaming content creators. I asked them how online gaming is trending in India, and they said the internet is very cheap in India while it’s expensive in the rest of the world. Cheap data is opening up opportunities, and people can access things online. There are over 5 lakh common service centres in India, giving access to people even in the rural area. These initiatives are citizen-centric,” said PM Modi.

Then, talking about his philosophy for governance, he clarified, it is P2G2 government meaning it is “Pro People Good Governance”.

Meanwhile, during the course of his interview, he also revealed an instance, which shows that how India is leading in digital infrastructure.

Talking about this, he stated

“I met Noble Prize winner Professor Paul Romer in New York, we discussed technology and he suggested that we need software for keeping documents and showed him Digi Locker (A government to keep digitised versions of documents) on my phone. He was surprised by it and said India has excelled in digital infrastructure even more than the world thinks.
