Beginning his first official state visit to Egypt on saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks on strengthening commercial ties and further solidifying the strategic alliance with his Egyptian counterpart, Mostafa Madbouly, and senior Cabinet members. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi invited Modi to visit Egypt. After 26 years, the Indian Prime Minister is making his first official trip to Egypt. During his first meeting, Modi discussed ways to expand trade ties and fortify the strategic alliance with Madbouly and other senior cabinet members of Egypt.
The Prime Minister also talked with people from the Indian diaspora and met Dr. Shawki Ibrahim Abdel-Karim Allam, Egypt’s Grand Mufti.
He also got to know people from the Bohra community and the Indian diaspora.

Prior to his Sunday visit to Cairo’s ancient Al-Hakim Mosque, which was repaired with the aid of India’s Dawoodi Bohra community, the prime minister met with members of the Bohra community.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks on advancing commercial ties and further solidifying the strategic alliance with his Egyptian counterpart Mostafa Madbouly and senior Cabinet members to kick off his first state visit to Egypt. On President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s invitation, Modi is in Egypt. An Indian prime minister hasn’t travelled to Egypt on a bilateral basis in 26 years.

During his first meeting, Modi discussed ways to expand trade ties and fortify the strategic alliance with Madbouly and other senior cabinet members of Egypt.
The Prime Minister also talked with people from the Indian diaspora and met Dr. Shawki Ibrahim Abdel-Karim Allam, Egypt’s Grand Mufti.
