Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a historic moment for the people of Jammu and Kashmir by inaugurating the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Jammu. The inauguration of AIIMS Jammu represents a significant step towards enhancing healthcare infrastructure in the region, providing specialized medical services closer to home.

Spread across 226.84 acres in the Vijaypur area of Samba district, AIIMS Jammu is established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) with the aim of addressing regional healthcare disparities and elevating medical education standards. The prime minister, addressing a public rally after launching projects worth over Rs 32,000 crore, emphasized the transformative impact of such initiatives on the healthcare landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.

Highlighting the strides made in medical education, Prime Minister Modi noted that the number of medical colleges in J&K has increased from four to 12 in the last decade. He underscored the substantial rise in MBBS and PG medical seats, along with the establishment of 35 new nursing and paramedic colleges, which will significantly augment healthcare resources in the region.

The inauguration of AIIMS Jammu holds immense significance as it eliminates the need for residents to travel to Delhi for specialized medical treatment. Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of saving valuable time and resources for the people of Jammu by bringing advanced medical facilities closer to their doorstep.

Reflecting on the broader vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, Prime Minister Modi reiterated the government’s commitment to transforming India into a developed nation. He emphasized that a ‘Viksit Jammu & Kashmir’ is essential for realizing this vision, with various developmental projects aimed at fulfilling this goal.

Expressing gratitude, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha thanked the Union government for fulfilling long-standing aspirations of the people of J&K, particularly in the realm of healthcare. He highlighted the remarkable progress witnessed in the region under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, including a significant decline in terrorism and a surge in investment and opportunities.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh underscored the government’s unwavering focus on infrastructure development, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. He credited Prime Minister Modi for driving ambitious projects to fruition, ensuring that development reaches every corner of the region.

AIIMS Jammu is poised to offer comprehensive medical services, with a focus on trauma care, general care, and super-specialties. With advanced facilities and a holistic healthcare approach, AIIMS Jammu aims to enhance regional health outcomes and empower women through equal opportunities and supportive policies.

The inauguration of AIIMS Jammu marks a new chapter in healthcare delivery for Jammu and Kashmir, underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring accessible and quality medical services for all citizens.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on political parties, accusing them of perpetuating dynastic politics at the expense of the region’s youth. Addressing a gathering, Modi lamented the detrimental impact of family-centric governance on the interests of the people, particularly the younger generation.

“Jammu and Kashmir has long been shackled by the chains of dynastic politics,” Modi declared, condemning the self-serving agendas of political dynasties. He asserted that such entities prioritized their own ambitions over the welfare of the populace, leaving the aspirations of the youth unfulfilled.
