Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated a series of airport projects, including 12 new terminal buildings across various cities in India, with a total investment of nearly Rs 10,000 crore. These projects are aimed at enhancing air connectivity, boosting tourism, and stimulating economic growth in the region.

The newly inaugurated terminal buildings are part of a larger initiative to modernize and expand airport infrastructure across the country. The projects include new terminals in cities such as Pune, Kolhapur, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Delhi, Lucknow, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Chitrakoot, Moradabad, Shravasti, and Adampur, as well as foundation stones being laid for upcoming terminals in Kadapa, Hubballi, and Belagavi airports.

The new terminals are equipped with modern amenities such as check-in counters, aerobridges, baggage conveyors, and concessionaire areas. Additionally, they incorporate sustainability features like double insulated roofing, energy-saving canopies, LED lighting, and solar power plants, aiming to achieve high environmental standards.

The design of these terminals is inspired by local heritage structures and reflects the cultural and architectural heritage of the region. The incorporation of murals, paintings, and local architectural styles aims to enhance the travel experience for passengers.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, these projects will significantly increase the passenger handling capacity of these airports and will have a positive impact on the local economy. The increased air connectivity is expected to boost tourism, business, education, and employment opportunities in the region, contributing to long-term economic growth.
