The Council of Ministers is convening at Pragati Maidan Convention Centre, which is being presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to sources, some ministries are expected to provide a report on various central initiatives and their implementation. They said that such discussions have occurred in the past during Council of Ministers sessions. According to insiders, the Prime Minister may deliver a major political message in light of five state elections later this year and Lok Sabha elections next year.

The government is finalising the agenda for Parliament’s monsoon session, which will begin on July 20. The opposition is likely to bring up UCC in order to put the government on the defensive.

Last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BL Santosh, and BJP National President JP Nadda. For the first time, the BJP will organise region-specific gatherings in the three zones – eastern, northern, and southern – on July 6, 7, and 8.

The BJP is preparing for assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram, as well as Lok Sabha elections later this year.
