The much-anticipated final of the Pro Kabaddi League 2023-2024 ended with Puneri Paltan lifting the cup against a very strong Haryana Stealers. The match ended in the favour of Puneri Paltan who won 28-23 against the Haryana Stealers.
Puneri Paltan got off the mark, courtesy of a good tackle by Sanket Sawant. Following this, Puneri’s Mohit Goyat collected another point on the do-or-die raid. Puneri seemed to be taking the upper hand before Haryana showed some good defence and made it 3-2.
Haryana showed some fight but only managed the score of 13-7 in favour of Puneri. But it wasn’t long before they came back strong and secured a super raid to make it 13-10. The tussle continued but Puneri led the charge and got the score to 25-19.
With just a minute to go, the game was going Puneri’s way as they stretched their lead and made it 28-21 and a super effort was needed from Haryana to stop the inevitable. A rare mistake from the Puneri, followed by some good recovery meant the Puneri took the match 28-25 and were fittingly crowned as champions.
The end-of-season awards showed Ashu Malik (Dabang Delhi) as the best raider and Mohammadreza Chiyaneh Shadloui (Puneri Paltan) as the best defender.
