Actor Vikrant Massey recently caused a stir among fans and industry insiders with an Instagram post suggesting a departure from acting after 2025. However, Massey has since clarified that he is not retiring but plans to take a temporary hiatus to focus on personal well-being. He stated, “I’m not retiring… Just burned out. Need a long break. Miss home and health is also acting up… People misread it.”
Massey emphasized his dedication to acting, noting, “Acting is all I can do. And it has given me everything I have.” He expressed a desire to return after addressing health concerns and spending time with family. This announcement comes amid the success of his recent film, The Sabarmati Report, which was screened at the Balayogi Auditorium in Parliament, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries.
He added, “I’m not retiring… Just burned out. Need a long break. Miss home and health is also acting up… People misread it.”

His initial announcement led to industry speculation, with filmmaker Sanjay Gupta defending Massey’s decision to take a break, while writer Apurva Asrani questioned if he was being “cancelled.”
