The Pawar family, including NCP founder Sharad Pawar and his daughter, MP Supriya Sule, convened at Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s Baramati residence to celebrate Bhau Beej on Wednesday. Ajit Pawar’s wife, Sunetra Pawar, and their sons, Parth Pawar and Jay Pawar, joined the family gathering in the Katewadi area of Baramati.
Tradi tionally, the Pawar family comes together during Diwali to observe Bhai Dooj or Bhau Beej in Baramati. Notably, this celebration marks the first Diwali for the family since Ajit Pawar’s departure from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) to form an alliance with the BJP and the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, becoming a part of the government. Ajit Pawar has also approached the Election Commission of India to assert his claim to the party founded by 82-year-old Sharad Pawar and its symbol.
On Tuesday evening, in a gesture of familial unity, Ajit Pawar visited Sharad Pawar’s residence in Baramati to celebrate Diwali Padwa. Subsequently, Supriya Sule took to social media to share photos from the joyous gathering, expressing, “Blessed! Embracing the beauty of our traditions with pride…Baramati.” The images showcased the warmth and togetherness of the Pawar family during the festive occasion.
The Bhau Beej celebration serves as a testament to family bonds persisting amidst political shifts. Ajit Pawar’s move from the NCP has been a notable development in Maharashtra’s political landscape, and the family’s cohesive celebration emphasizes shared traditions above political differences.
