Congress leader Pawan Khera expressed joy over the Jharkhand Assembly election results. He said the people of Jharkhand had rejected the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
“In Jharkhand, we have won, and divisive politics has been defeated… We are very happy… The people of Jharkhand have rejected them (NDA),” Khera told ANI.
Khera Comments on Maharashtra Results
When asked about Maharashtra’s election results, Khera called them “unbelievable.” He also praised the INDIA alliance’s performance. “The results in Maharashtra are unbelievable… We are also happy that in Parliament there will be a strong voice from the INDIA alliance side,” he added.
Jharkhand Results in Detail
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) led the alliance with 34 seats. Congress won 16, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) took four, and CPI-ML secured two. Together, they claimed 56 seats.
The BJP managed to win 21 seats. Its allies—AJSU, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), and JD-U—won one seat each.
This is a historic win for Jharkhand. For the first time, a ruling government completing five years retained power.
Maharashtra Elections: A Big Win for Mahayuti
The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance swept the Maharashtra polls. The BJP secured 132 seats. Shiv Sena, led by Eknath Shinde, won 57. NCP, led by Ajit Pawar, claimed 41.
The BJP had an excellent strike rate, winning 132 out of 148 contested seats. Its allies also performed well.
Setback for MVA
The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance suffered heavy losses. Shiv Sena (UBT), led by Uddhav Thackeray, won only 20 seats. Congress managed 16, and Sharad Pawar’s NCP(SP) won 10 seats.
Maharashtra held single-phase elections on November 20. Jharkhand conducted elections in two phases, on November 13 and November 20.
The Jharkhand elections brought a historic win for the JMM-Congress alliance. Meanwhile, the Mahayuti alliance dominated in Maharashtra, leaving the MVA struggling to maintain its position.
