In 2014, Pat Cummins made his IPL debut for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) under captain Gautam Gambhir at Eden Gardens. During that season, Cummins played just one match against the Chennai Super Kings, where he bowled four overs, gave away 29 runs, including a maiden over, and took the wicket of Dwayne Smith. Although he spent much of the season on the sidelines, Cummins was part of KKR’s championship-winning squad.
Following KKR’s 2014 title victory, a video emerged online showing Cummins dancing to the team’s anthem ‘Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo Re’. This video resurfaced on social media after Sunrisers Hyderabad, led by Cummins, faced defeat in the IPL final on Sunday.

Since his 2014 debut, Pat Cummins has played in 58 IPL matches, taking 63 wickets and scoring 515 runs. Over his IPL career, he has played for KKR, Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In the IPL 2024 Auction, Cummins was acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a record Rs 20.50 crore, making him the second-most expensive player in IPL history. Appointed captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2024 season, Cummins led the team to the final, where they finished as runners-up after losing to KKR in Chennai.
