The crucial party meeting on Thursday, called by the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, was said to be attended by 53 out of 62 MLAs.
Amid the ongoing speculations around Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs being untraceable, Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday convened a meeting of his legislators. Kejriwal claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tried to buy 40 MLAs for Rs 20 crore each.
“They (BJP) have kept Rs 800 crores aside to topple Delhi government; they are trying to buy 40 MLAs for Rs 20 crore each. The nation wants to know who do those Rs 800 crores belong to? Where have they been stashed?”
The CM’s meeting that lasted for 45 minutes at his residence to discuss the support of his party members in the recent scenario of political developments, was attended by 53 out of 62 MLAs, said AAP legislator Saurabh Bharadwaj.
“BJP’s operation lotus failed in Delhi. 53 out of 62 MLAs were present in the meeting today. Speaker is outside the country and Manish Sisodia is in Himachal. CM spoke to other MLAs over the phone and everyone said that they are with CM Kejriwal till their last breath,” said Bharadwaj.
“BJP offered to bring down Kejriwal’s government by luring AAP MLAs with Rs 20-20 crores… slogans of ‘50 Khokha-50 Khokha’ were raised in Maharashtra Assembly, hence I would say to the BJP Band karo desh se dhokha, nahi chalega 50 khoka,” Bharadwaj said addressing a press conference here.
Asserting there was “no substance” in the allegation by AAP that its MLAs were being poached, BJP dared the Arvind Kejriwal-led outfit to name those it claims had reached out with offers. Addressing a press conference here, BJP leaders Sudhanshu Trivedi and Parvesh Verma, dismissed the allegation claiming there was “no substance” to it.
BJP also organised massive protest against the excise policy in all 14 districts of Delhi. Addressing a protest at RK Ashram, BJP leader Adesh Gupta stated that the AAP had been misleading the public by talking about other things. The party leaders have been demanding the immediate sacking of Sisodia.
