Parents in Maharashtra have taken to the streets, vehemently protesting against a local school amid disturbing allegations of child molestation during a recent school trip.
The Kapurbawadi police acted swiftly, detaining a 27-year-old bus attendant employed by a third-party tour company. The arrest followed accusations of molestation involving six girls and two boys, all students in Class II at a respected school in Thane. The complaint leading to the arrest was lodged by concerned parents.
The complaint outlines the disturbing details of the alleged misconduct, asserting that the 27-year-old employee from Adventure Education Tours made children sit on his lap and engaged in inappropriate touching while distributing snack boxes.
A parent, recounting the school trip incident, expressed concern, stating, “On February 20, during a grade 2 picnic, two outsiders accompanied the children without prior parental notification. The selection process for these accompanying individuals remains unclear to us. One individual is accused of molesting 8-10 children, despite teachers claiming vigilance and no untoward incidents. However, eight children cannot be lying… Teachers are refuting the allegations, while the management acknowledges negligence in appointing the third party and places the blame entirely on them. We are calling for the resignation of the implicated teachers and management. We have filed an FIR against the teacher, management, principal, and the alleged perpetrator.”
Although the police have apprehended the accused, parents insist on adding the names of the three teachers present on the bus to the FIR, holding them accountable for negligence.
As of now, the school administration has yet to respond to these grave allegations.
