Arrangements for injections on wounds after dog bites should be made at Panchkula Civil Hospital. There are 30 to 60 bite cases in Panchkula every day, causing serious injuries to people. Anti-rabies injections are administered in the hospital, but to get the injection done on the wound, one has to go to the dispensary in Chandigarh Sector 19. Bharat Hitaishi, Chairman of Hitaishi Foundation, has made this demand by writing a letter to the Health Ministers of the Center and Haryana. The well-wisher of India said that despite the Haryana Health Department having a budget of crores of rupees and claiming to have the largest hospital in the state in Panchkula, the injection given for wounds caused by dog bites is not available in Panchkula.

The Health Department argues that this injection is provided by the Central Government, and only one center has been built in Chandigarh. But instead of understanding the pain of the people, the Health Department has created more problems for them. The Health Department talks about building a single center citing the cost of this injection, but when the Central Government is providing the injections free of cost or at a nominal amount, then a separate center should be built in Panchkula.

“We have been living in fear of stray dogs for the last several years. Dogs walking on the road have become a problem for the people. A large number of people are becoming victims of this. Talking about the last one year, stray dogs have bitten about 4 thousand people,” said the India well-wisher. He told the story of Kashmir Chand, a person who had gone for a walk in Sector 19, suddenly caught by a dog near the government school of Sector 19, Panchkula, without making any sound, pounced on his leg.

Due to darkness, they could not see anything. The dog did not let go of his leg and bit it badly. He fell down after being bitten. After this, the dog ran away from there. He recovered and was able to stand with great difficulty. Soon after, he was taken to Civil Hospital Sector 6, where he was given an injection to treat a dog bite and also a pain injection. The wound that occurs on the leg after a dog bite also has to be injected, but this injection is not available in Civil Hospital Sector 6, which is one of the big hospitals in Haryana. To give an injection on the wound, the emergency doctor of Civil Hospital instructed him to get the injection from the dispensary of Sector 19, Chandigarh.

India’s well-wisher said that stray dogs have bitten children, elders, and even women. By looking at the statistics, it can be estimated how many people became victims of dogs in the entire year. There have been 2166 cases in just 6 months. The state government and the district administration claim to make Panchkula district a smart city. This includes making it drug-free, plastic-free, pollution-free, stray cattle-free, stray dog-free, encroachment-free, and slum-free. Despite this, no solution could be found to save people from stray dogs.
