The Crime Branch has successfully solved a blind murder case in Panchkula, leading to the arrest of two suspects. The accused were identified as Manoj Kumar, son of Bihari Lal and resident of village Majri, Sector 02 Panchkula, and Sonu, son of Durga and resident of village Singhpura, Zirakpur, district Mohali, Punjab.

The arrested individuals were presented in court and remanded to police custody for seven days. ACP Arvind Kamboj of the Crime Branch provided details of the case, stating that on April 18, 2024, the body of a person was discovered near Jubilee Park, Sector 05 Panchkula. A case was registered at Sector 05 police station, prompting Inspector Yogvindra Singh and his team from the Crime Branch Sector 19 to launch an investigation.

It was reported that the victim, Daryav Singh, a retired individual from the education department, had lodged a complaint stating that his son, Devendra, aged 55, who resided on rent in Sector 15 Panchkula, had visited his home at night but failed to attend a wedding in Jind the next day. Upon calling his son’s phone, it was found switched off. Later, Devendra’s body was discovered near Silver Jubilee Park, Sector 05, with severe head injuries. Under the leadership of Inspector Yogvinder Singh, the Crime Branch team meticulously investigated the case, utilizing CCTV footage, bank transactions, and interrogation of witnesses. As a result, PSI Akint Dhanda apprehended the two suspects, who were subsequently presented in court and remanded to police custody for further questioning.
