Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed on Saturday that previous Congress administrations were “weak” in confronting Pakistan’s terrorism because they would reach out to Pakistan with conciliation messages in the hopes of bringing about peace, only to be met with an increase in terrorist activity. Modi emphasised that India’s position towards Pakistan had changed since the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and emphasised the resoluteness of the current government.
“In the past, administrations wrote love letters to Pakistan while terrorists freely wrecked havoc. But because to your vote, we were able to say “enough is enough” since India in the modern era does not use dossiers. This is the retaliatory New India. Brave men and women from Jharkhand and Bihar formerly gave their lives to defend their borders. It was a tragic repeating event. “The cowardly Congress regimes would be mourned worldwide,” Modi declared during a Palamu election rally.
“The surgical and Balakot strikes rattled Pakistan. Now, Pakistan is appealing worldwide for help. Pakistani leaders are praying for Rahul Gandhi to become India’s Prime Minister. But a resolute India desires a robust government,” he added.
The Prime Minister also highlighted achievements post-2014, including the eradication of Naxalism, terrorism, and the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
“With the power of your vote, the barrier of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir was dismantled. Naxalism and terrorism plagued regions like Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, and Andhra Pradesh, drenching the land in blood. Your vote fulfilled the aspirations of countless mothers and liberated these areas from Naxalite terror,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, former Pakistani Minister Fawad Chaudhry praised Rahul Gandhi’s socialist ideology, drawing parallels between the challenges faced by India and Pakistan regarding wealth distribution.
“Rahul Gandhi, akin to his great grandfather Jawaharlal Nehru, embodies socialist principles. The economic disparities in India and Pakistan persist despite 75 years of partition. Rahul’s recent remarks echo concerns about wealth concentration. Fair wealth distribution remains capitalism’s greatest challenge,” Chaudhry posted on X.
Jharkhand will undergo elections in four phases: May 13, 20, 25, and June 1. In 2019, the BJP-led NDA secured 12 seats, with BJP winning 11, while Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress clinched one each. The general elections, conducted in seven phases over a six-week span from April 19 to June 1, will announce results on June 4.
