In the wake of growing tension between Pakistan and Iran over Iranian air strikes in the Balochistan province, Pakistan has recalled its top diplomat from Iran. This move comes shortly after Pakistan expelled the Iranian Ambassador from its territory. The decision was announced by Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch during a press briefing in Islamabad.

The Iranian air strikes, conducted on Tuesday, targeted two camps of the Jaish al-Adl terror group, a group that Iran has previously linked to attacks on its security forces. However, Islamabad condemned the attack, labeling it a “completely unacceptable” violation of its airspace. Pakistan has warned of “serious consequences” in response to the air strikes.

In light of the escalating tensions, Pakistan has taken diplomatic measures by recalling its ambassador from Iran. Additionally, the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, who is currently visiting Iran, is not expected to return for the time being. The diplomatic actions underscore the strain in relations between the two neighboring nations and the potential for further consequences in the region.
