Pakistan’s effort to spread terror on the India-Pakistan border through drones is continuing. In the last several months, half-a-dozen big attempts have been made.
A day after two drones carried out attacks at the Air Force Station in Jammu on Sunday, alert troops successfully thwarted two drone activities near the Ratnuchak-Kaluchak Military Station along Jammu-Pathankot national highway on the intervening night of June 27-28, said an Army official on Monday.
Top intelligence sources say that due to the alertness of the security forces, the terrorists are unable to infiltrate from the LoC and the International Border and hence they have now chosen “drone” as their new weapon for attack. “Even after repeated attempts, when infiltration attempts were not successful, the Pakistani Army and other intelligence agency ISI got furious! And they came up with a new way of carrying out attacks through drones,” an intelligence source said.
The report by intelligence agencies has revealed that Pakistan’s Army and ISI were trying to sneak in such small drones into the Kashmir Valley, which were used by Lashkar and Hizbul terrorists present in Jammu and Kashmir to target security forces.
An officer associated with intelligence agencies said in a conversation with The Daily Guardian that Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI and Army had a big meeting with the terrorists. This meeting was held in Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. The meeting was attended by Lashkar’s Zonal Commander Saifullah, Hizbul Mujahideen chief Salauddin and Hizbul’s Zonal Commander Abu Bakr.
It was planned in this meeting that such small drones would be given to the terrorists of Lashkar and Hizbul in Kashmir, which the terrorists could use against the security forces. According to sources, these small drones can carry 3 to 6 kg of IED up to 2.5 to 3 km.
In fact, after the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, the Central government has given a free hand to the security forces, after which the army and security forces are continuously eliminating terrorists. According to intelligence agencies, 225 terrorists were killed in 2020, out of which 44 were top commanders.
According to the top official of the Ministry of Home Affairs, since the removal of Article 370, more than 290 terrorists have been killed so far, due to which, the plan to target the security bases of the country with terror drones was hatched.
The training for attack through drones is not very expensive. The danger in carrying out a drone strike is much less than in ground attacks. Drones are also a challenge because they can fly at very low altitudes and due to flying at low altitude, the chances of being caught by radar are also less.
To protect security establishments from terrorist attacks, there is a big plan to install anti-drone systems at different places as soon as possible.
