A 20-member delegation representing the Padari Tribe had a significant meeting with Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan today, expressing their gratitude for the conferred Scheduled Tribe status to their community.

Led by Shri Sunil Sharma, former Minister, the delegation conveyed their heartfelt appreciation to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, and the administration led by Lt Governor for this landmark decision.

The delegation emphasized that the granting of Scheduled Tribe status holds immense significance for the socio-economic upliftment of the Padari Tribe. They expressed optimism that this recognition would create conducive conditions for their community to actively contribute to the development endeavors of Jammu & Kashmir and the nation at large.

In response, Lt Governor Shri Manoj Sinha reiterated the commitment of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi towards the comprehensive development of all sections of society, guided by the principle of “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas” (Together with All, Development for All). “The objective is to build an inclusive and equitable society where the marginalized segments are empowered and can avail the benefits of national progress,” remarked the Lt Governor.

The meeting underscored the government’s dedication to ensuring the welfare and advancement of every community, fostering an environment of collective growth and prosperity across Jammu & Kashmir.
