HYDERABAD: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi took a dig at Rajya Sabha MP Ghulam Nabi Azad after the latter offered to resign from the Congress, following Rahul Gandhi’s remark about him “colluding with BJP”. His exact tweet read, “Ghulam Nabi… accused me of exactly this. Now you’re accused of the same. 45 years of ghulami for this? Now it’s proven that anyone opposing Janeudhari leadership will be branded B-Team. I hope Muslims now know the high cost of loyalty to Congress,” Owaisi tweeted. His dig was aimed at veteran Congress leader Gulam Nabi Azad who had also signed the dissent letter to the Congress high command seeking complete revamp of party structure and functionaries. Owaisi has always remarked against the Congress and accused the grand old party for cheating on Muslims. He said Azad had accused him as being the “B” team of BJP and now Gulam Nabi Azad has been facing the same criticism. This is called “poetic justice” , he remarked on Monday. There has been old feud between Gulam Nabi Azad and Owaisi since both of them fight for minority vote-banks. Owaisi had earlier launched a scathing attack on Azad calling him “Gulam” (slave) of the Congress party. Owaisi had remarked, “While your name is Ghulam Nabi, you have been serving as a Ghulam (slave) to the Congress party your entire lifetime not to Nabi.” When AIMIM had poll pact with TRS in Telangana, Azad had criticised Owaisi and TRS as B teams of the BJP. Owaisi during the poll campaign had ridiculed that during Azad’s 45 years in politics, he only fought once for an Assembly seat when he was the Chief Minister and asked Muslims not to trust Gulam Nabi Azad and the Congress.
Owaisi said that anyone opposing ‘“aneudhari leadership” will be branded B-Team of the rival party. Owaisi further said that he would erode the Congress vote-bank in many states in the upcoming elections.
