Sanjeev Kumar Bandlish, Convenor of the United Forum of Bank’s Unions (UFBU), received a hearty welcome from the staff members of the State Bank of India upon returning to the Local Head Office in Chandigarh. The warm reception followed the successful signing of the 12th Bipartite Settlement (BPS) between Bank Unions and the Indian Banks Association on March 8, 2024. Notably, this historic BPS was achieved without any agitation or strike from the bankers and will result in a substantial 17% salary increase.
The Bipartite Settlement, applicable from November 1, 2022, also marks a significant milestone by paving the way for the introduction of Five Days banking in India. Sanjeev Kumar Bandlish, recognized not only as the leader of SBI but also a dynamic and workmen-oriented figure in the entire banking fraternity, addressed the gathered staff members. He commended the unity demonstrated by bankers at all times and attributed the historic feat to their collective expression of interests.
