In a devastating accident, eight individuals, including two minors, lost their lives when their vehicle veered off course and plunged down a hillside in the Daksum region of Kokernag, South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
According to officials, the vehicle involved was a Sumo with registration number JK03H 9017. The crash occurred as the vehicle was traveling on the road near Daksum. The vehicle was carrying a family of eight, including five children, two women, and a man, who were en route from Kishtwar.
Emergency services and local authorities responded to the scene, but the severity of the crash left no survivors. The tragic incident has prompted a formal investigation, with a case registered to determine the circumstances leading to the accident.
