Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta inaugurated the foundation stone laying ceremony for a drinking water pipeline in Industrial Area Phase-1 village Abhaypur, costing around Rs 69 lakh. Additionally, he inaugurated the sump well boundary wall, constructed at a cost of Rs 11 lakh, benefiting the residents of Abhaypur.
During the event, Gupta planted saplings in the Sampwell courtyard, emphasizing environmental consciousness. Municipal Corporation Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal and BJP District President Deepak Sharma attended the ceremony.
Gupta highlighted the significance of replacing the old drinking water pipeline in Abhaypur, which had hindered clean water supply, causing inconvenience for villagers. He directed the Haryana Urban Development Authority to ensure the use of high-quality pipes and complete the project within three months.
Addressing the issue of inadequate drainage causing water overflow on roads, Gupta stressed the importance of the sump well boundary wall. This infrastructure will facilitate smooth flow of sewerage water, preventing diseases caused by water accumulation on roads.
Gupta commended Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal for prioritizing Panchkula’s development, citing the city’s transformation into an educational hub. He mentioned the ongoing and upcoming projects, including AYUSH AIIMS, Medical College in Sector-32, and overall development works exceeding Rs 5500 crore in Panchkula.
Highlighting Chief Minister Manohar Lal’s commitment to inclusive development, Gupta noted the transformation of Panchkula from neglect to progress. He emphasized improvements in healthcare facilities, with Civil Hospital in Sector-6 expanding to 500 beds and the addition of modern amenities.
The event saw the presence of other dignitaries, including JJP District President Dilbag Nain, BJP District Vice President Harendra Malik, local councilors, and officials from Haryana Urban Development Authority.
