DCW chief demanded removal of Sajid Khan from Big Boss, gets rape threats

Swati Maliwal, chief of the Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) on Wednesday said that she is receiving rape threats on social media as a consequence of writing a letter to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur to remove filmmaker Sajid Khan of Big Boss over allegations of sexual harassment against him.

Swati has also asked the Delhi Police to arrest the people who allegedly threatened of raping her. She tweeted, “Ever since I wrote a letter to the I&B minister to get #SajidKhan out of Bigg Boss, I have been receiving rape threats on Instagram. They want to stop our work. I am giving a complaint to Delhi Police. Register FIR and investigate. Arrest those who are behind them.”

Sajid Khan has appeared on the latest season of Big Boss. The demands for his removal are surfacing the social media as he has numerous harassment complaints against him.

The DCW chief tweeted on Monday and said that the numerous complaints against Sajid Khan show his disgusting mentality.

“Ten women had accused Sajid Khan of sexual harassment during the #MeToo movement. All these complaints show the disgusting mentality of Sajid. Now, this man has been given a place in Bigg Boss, which is wrong. I have written to @ianuragthakur to have Sajid Khan removed from this show,” she tweeted.

Sajid participated in Big Boss 16 and appeared on the screens on 1st October which has led to a lot of anger among people.

After nine women in the industry who had collaborated with Khan on his numerous films accused the director of sexual harassment, Sajid became embroiled in the #MeToo scandal in 2018. Actresses including Mandana Karimi, Saloni Chopra, Sherlyn Chopra, and Aahana Kumra, among others, are said to have made the accusations against him.
Singer Sona Mohapatra, who claimed to have been harassed by music composer Anu Malik, has criticised Colors TV’s choice to invite Sajid into the Bigg Boss house.
Sajid made the moral decision to resign from his position as director of “Houseful 4” after hearing the accusations. Filmmaker Farhad Samji was given the reins for the direction. Additionally, he said that his family was under “pressure” when he made his decision.
