Ruling YSRCP does murderous politics in Andhra: Naidu

AMARAVATI: TDP chief and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu decried and blamed the ruling YCP leaders for the murder of weaker sections leader Nandam Subbaiah at Proddatur in Kadapa district.

Naidu alleged that Subbaiah was targeted just because he held a press conference where he exposed the local YCP MLAs’ corruption and illegal activities. With a premeditated plan, the YCP leaders were bent on eliminating the backward classes and weaker sections leaders.

In a statement here, the TDP chief accused the YCP of resorting to mayhem and killings in order to suppress all voices of dissent from both the Opposition and the public. Subbaiah was now brutally murdered for questioning the role of the MLA and his brother-in-law in the illegal transportation of sand and cricket bettings. What more, Subbaiah was killed when he went to take part in the house sites distribution programme launched by the government itself.

Naidu deplored that after Jaganmohan Reddy became the Chief Minister, all sections of people came under threat to lose life and property. The people were under constant fear not known when atrocities and attacks would be committed and when people’s houses would be robbed. Murders, rapes, gang-rapes and tortures were taking place daily somewhere in the state without any relief.

Naidu said that in the past 19 months, many TDP leaders and activists were eliminated. Andhra Pradesh was turned into a den of criminals. There was no end to the misdeeds and atrocities of the mafia gangs and mobsters. The criminal gangs were becoming greatly emboldened. Nandam Subbaiah’s murder revealed yet again how the law and order had totally collapsed in Kadapa district in particular and in AP in general.

The TDP chief termed Subbaiah’s killing as a “government murder” and demanded the Chief Minister to hold responsibility for the ghastly incident. The government should give strong punishment to the murderers and justice should be done to the bereaved family, he said.
