RSS-ABVP workers conduct thermal screening of 10,000 Dharavi residents

In the fight against coronavirus pandemic, volunteers of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, equipped with PPE sets and directed by doctors on board, have done thermal screening over almost 10,000 people in 24-hour in Mumbai’s Dharavi on Tuesday without any government assistance, report says.

The members of ABVP and RSS have been organising such medical camps in Mumbai to make aware people about the seriousness of Covid-19. The campaign has completed two phases till now. According to the reports, thermal screening, at mass rate, has been planned in Dharavi slum as it is the largest containment zone in the country.

A group, consisting four members and a doctor each, was formed in 50 different places. More than 400 activists had participated in this entire campaign. Volunteers used PPE kits, masks and sanitisers under the supervision of experts and also made the public aware of how to deal with coronavirus.

So far, the workers of the Sangh and the ABVP have done thermal screening of more than 90,000 people. Thermal screening of more than 10,000 people a day in Dharavi by Sangh volunteers is itself a record. During this medical campaign, all the rules and the guidelines of the government and the municipality were duly followed by them, Sangh sources said.
