Punjab CM slams Amarinder Singh Raja warring for misleading statements

Punjab Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann, has criticized the State Congress Chief, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, for making misleading and false statements in what he described as an “erroneous and malafide” manner.
In an official statement released today, Chief Minister Mann accused Raja Warring of trying to deceive the public with incorrect and malicious statements solely for the purpose of garnering media attention. Mann emphasized that the state government had submitted an affidavit in the Supreme Court to protect the interests of Punjab.
Referring to the contents of the affidavit, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that it highlights how the incentives provided by the Central Government for 40 years contributed to the extensive cultivation of paddy in the state, offering remunerative pricing under the minimum support price.
Mann further noted that the affidavit underscores the need to divert and diversify the cropping pattern away from paddy and towards other crops. The document highlights the importance of providing assured minimum support prices and other incentives to encourage farmers to adopt alternative crops. According to the affidavit, achieving this shift in behavior would require a sustainable campaign to alter farmers’ practices and manage crop residue effectively.
The Chief Minister criticized Raja Warring for referring to an affidavit based on his “whims and fancies,” which he believes reflects the State Congress Chief’s lack of seriousness and a hasty approach. Mann emphasized that there is a substantial difference between writing letters for bus bodies and representing the state’s interests in the Supreme Court. He concluded that such non-seriousness and hastiness have contributed to the sinking ship of the Congress party.
