On the 100th birth anniversary of former Lok Sabha MP Pandit Chiranjee Lal Sharma, thousands of people paid homage to their beloved leader. Prominent political leaders who attended the event praised Pandit Chiranjee Lal Sharma for his consistent commitment to public welfare and contributions to the development of Karnal and Panipat districts. They highlighted his significant contributions to projects such as the Indian Oil Refinery, NFL, and doubling of railway tracks.
The 100th birth anniversary celebration took place on Sunday in Sector 12, Panipat, marking the Smriti Diwas in memory of Pandit Chiranjee Lal Sharma. He had served as a legislator in United Punjab, four-time Lok Sabha MP from Haryana, and a minister in the state government. The event was attended by political dignitaries, including former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, former Union Minister Vinod Sharma, Choudhary Birender Singh Rajya Sabha MP Kartikey Sharma, and MP Sushil Gupta, along with Congress state president Uday Bhan and also many representatives from different communities.
During the Smriti Diwas event, Pandit Chiranjee Lal Sharma’s family, including his grandchildren Nalini Durga Pandit and Nandan Vinayak Pandit, Chanakya Pandit, Kuber Sharma, Sumit Gaur, Manish Sharma paid tribute through a special presentation. Holding a picture of their great-grandfather, they expressed their emotions through a song.
A book unveiling ceremony also took place during the event, showcasing a biography written about Pandit Chiranjee Lal Sharma’s life. Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Congress State President Uday Bhan inaugurated the book.
Addressing the gathering, former Union Minister Vinod Sharma acknowledged Pandit Chiranjee Lal Sharma’s long and impactful political and social life, describing it as a source of inspiration. Hooda remarked on the uniqueness of Pandit Ji’s political identity, highlighting the collaborative work they undertook during their time in politics.
Former Speaker Kuldeep Sharma and Chanakya Pandit, representing the Sharma family, expressed gratitude to all attendees, affirming their commitment to continue the legacy of public service established by Pandit Chiranjee Lal Sharma in the field of politics.
