Oppo K12x 5G Set For July 29 Launch In India As Part Of New K-Series

Oppo recently launched its flagship Reno 12 series in India, featuring the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro smartphones, both priced over Rs 25,000. The company is now set to introduce a new series of smartphones in India, the K series. The debut device, Oppo K12x 5G, was recently listed on Flipkart with a “Flipkart Unique” sticker, indicating its exclusivity to the platform. Oppo has confirmed that the K12x 5G will be launched on July 29, likely through an online event.

Oppo has announced that the K12x 5G will feature a 360-degree damage-resistant armor body, using drop-resistant materials inspired by sponge structures to protect its internal components. The display will be safeguarded by double-reinforced Panda Glass, and the smartphone will be MIL-STD-810H military standard certified for durability. An air cushion armor case will be included for added protection.

The Oppo K12x 5G will weigh 186g and measure 7.68mm at its thinnest point, with a matte finish frame for better grip. It will be available in Breeze Blue and Midnight Violet colors.

Oppo has also confirmed that the K12x 5G will be powered by a 5,100mAh battery.

It remains unconfirmed whether the Oppo K12x 5G launching in India will be identical to the recently launched China variant. However, examining the Chinese model provides some insight into what to expect.

The Oppo K12x features a 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2400×1080, a peak brightness of 2100 nits, and a standard brightness of 1200 nits. The screen is responsive to touch even with wet hands and offers a refresh rate of either 120Hz or 60Hz.

The K12x is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor clocked at 2.2GHz, combined with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Its 5,500mAh battery supports fast charging with various protocols, including SuperVOOC, VOOC 3.0, PD3.0, and UFCS.

For photography, the device includes a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and autofocus, though it lacks OIS. Additionally, it has a 2-megapixel portrait lens with an f/2.4 aperture. On the front, it features a 16-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture and an 82-degree field of view.
