The Delhi Cops arrested a drunken passenger named Jauhar Ali Khan for urinating in public at Terminal 3 of the Delhi Airport. He was later released on a bail bond.
Delhi Police said the incident took place on January 8 when Jauhar Ali Khan urinated in the open in front of departure gate 6. He also abused other passengers, police said.
Jauhar Ali Khan was travelling to Dammam, according to the news agency ANI. The incident happened in the midst of controversy surrounding the Air India urination case, which led to the arrest of Mumbai-based businessman Shankar Mishra.
Mishra peed on a female business class passenger during an American-Delhi aircraft while intoxicated. When the passenger complained to Air India about how Mishra was left unpunished when the plane landed in India, the event involving Air India came to light.
Since Air India was criticised for its slow response to the issue, the incident exposed the airline’s current situation. The DGCA cited Air India’s failure to notify the authority of the incident in a showcase notice it sent to the airline, its director of inflight services, and the pilots who operated the flight.
