The weather has now taken a turn in Rajasthan. With the effect of Western Disturbance reducing, winter has started gaining momentum in the state. The night temperature in 8 cities of the state reached below 10 degrees. Mount Abu had the coldest night with 2 degrees. There has been a decline in the night mercury in all the cities of the state. The night mercury in Karauli has dropped the most by 7 degrees. The night temperature here was recorded at 9.3 degrees. Apart from this, the night temperature of Jalore fell by 4.2 degrees, Bhilwara by 3.8 and Udaipur’s Dabok by 3.4 degrees.
According to the Meteorological Department, the day of Barmer and Phalodi was the hottest with 27 degrees and the night of Dungarpur was the hottest with 16.1 degrees. Chittorgarh had the coldest day with 20.2 degrees. Apart from this, the day temperature in three other cities including Sirohi reached nearly 20 degrees. The night temperature of Fatehpur was recorded at 6.4, Pilani of Jhunjhunu was 8.6, Churu was 9.2, Sirohi and Karauli were 9.3, Sangriya of Hanumangarh was 9.4 and Sikar was 9.5 degrees. Whereas in 9 cities of the state, the day temperature was recorded above 25. The day temperature in Jhunjhunu’s Pilani, Sikar, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jalore and Sikar’s Fatehpur crossed 25. While the day temperature in Jaipur increased, the night temperature declined. Fog covered Jaipur and its surrounding rural areas in the morning. In Jaipur, the day temperature increased by more than one degree and the night temperature also dropped by more than one degree. The maximum temperature of Jaipur was recorded at 24.5 degrees and the minimum temperature was 12.7 degrees. Apart from this, dense fog was seen in Shekhawati and nearby villages of Hanumangarh, Sriganganagar, Churu, and Bikaner. The visibility here was less than 150 meters. Drivers had to switch on their lights. After two days of rain, the air quality of Jaipur is continuously improving. Jaipur’s air quality reached the yellow zone from orange. Jaipur’s air quality was recorded at 121 on Tuesday. Jaipur’s air quality was recorded at 140 on Monday. Apart from this, AQI of Shastri Nagar was recorded at 125, Adarsh Nagar at 90, Police Commissionerate at 135, Muralipura at 155, Sitapura RIICO at 160 and Mansarovar at 120.
