Houston: Rapper BTB Savage killed in ‘targeted shooting’

Rapper BTB Savage was allegedly killed in a shooting in Houston on Thursday. It’s thought to have been a “targeted incident.”

BTB Savage was reportedly killed in a shooting near Houston’s River Oaks neighbourhood. The incident occurred in the 2100 block of Mid Lane around 6:10 p.m. on Thursday (March 30, 2023).

Officers arrived at the scene and discovered the young rapper had already died. Savage promoted his upcoming tape, Too Much Motion, and posted two photos on Twitter just hours before his death.

What Exactly Happened?

Savage, whose real name Brian Thompson, was driving a white Mercedes when two suspects in a black Subaru pulled up alongside him. According to  report by ABC 13, multiple bullets were fired, and the suspects exited the vehicle and fled on San Felipe.

As of now the identities of the suspects unknown, but they were described to be wearing black hoodies along with sunglasses. Due to the large number of bullet casings found at the crime scene, police believe it was a targeted drive-by shooting.

BTB Savage was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and is best known for his 2022 album, Break The Bank 2. As a rising artist, he has collaborated with Gramz, Juney Knotzz, Veeze, and Skilla Baby.

Days before his death, Vlad TV dropped an interview with the musician wherein he revealed about a robbery in his home. BTB claimed an acquaintance tried to rob his chain at gunpoint, and after a struggle, he told his girlfriend to shoot the man.

The brawl continued, and his girlfriend allegedly accidentally shot at Savage’s elbow, explaining his cast in recent Instagram posts.

Our deepest condolences with the family and closed-ones of Rapper BTB Savage. May his departed soul rest in peace!
