Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has claimed that the rates of horsetrading in the state have increased after the Governor gave his approval for the Assembly session. “Before the date for the Assembly session was announced, first installment (for horse-trading) was 10 (Rs 10 lakh), the second was 15 (Rs 15 lakh), but now you will be surprised to know that MLAs are being asked how much they want? This means that the horsetrading rate has increased from Rs 25 lakh. Everyone knows who is monitoring,” the CM said in a tweet.
Governor Kalraj Mishra on Wednesday accepted the Gehlot government›s proposal to call the Assembly session on 14 August. The Governor had earlier rejected three proposals, seeking an urgent session, as he claimed that the appropriate reason for calling the session was not mentioned in them.
The Rajasthan CM, however, believes the Governor was playing the delaying tactic to give the BJP more time for horse-trading. “This whole game is about delaying so that the horse-trading can be done by the BJP. Some leaders of our party are also involved in this on BJP›s behalf,” he said in another tweet.
But Gehlot showed his happiness over the fact that the Governor accepted his request for the session. “I am happy that the Governor finally accepted my request to call the Assembly session sooner as any more delay could have resulted in further horse-trading. Everyone knows horse-trading took place but that won’t affect us, we will complete our full term,” he said.
