In a move aimed at enhancing patient care, the Health and Medical Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has announced an extension of working days and hours in all Government Medical and Dental colleges across the region.

According to an official order issued, the new working schedule mandates that the reporting time for staff in Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) and Government Dental Colleges (GDCs) will now commence at 9:00 am, with a relieving time set at 5:00 pm on all weekdays, excluding Saturdays.

The order further specifies that a half-hour lunch break will be observed from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm daily, except on Saturdays.

“On weekdays, the reporting time will be 9:00 am with a relieving time of 5:00 pm, including a half-hour lunch break from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm in all government medical and dental colleges of Jammu and Kashmir,” the order delineates.

Additionally, the order stipulates that on Saturdays, the reporting time will remain at 9:00 am, while the relieving time has been adjusted to 1:30 pm.

This initiative, undertaken by the Health Department, is geared towards optimizing healthcare services and ensuring timely medical assistance for patients.
