As part of the next round of relaxations of Covid-19 restrictions in the national capital, gyms and yoga institutes will reopen from Monday, and banquet halls will be allowed to host marriage events with the number of guests capped at 50

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) issued an order late Saturday specifying the course of the unlock. “Gymnasiums and yoga institutes will be permitted to open up to 50 per cent of the capacity,” the order said. In the case of banquet halls, marriage halls, hotels, “only marriages shall be allowed with a ceiling of 50 persons,” it added.

Earlier, the Delhi government had allowed marriage in the presence of 20 people in court or at home. However, at the funeral, still not more than 20 people will be able to attend.

Meanwhile, Delhi recorded 89 new Covid-19 cases and four deaths in the last 24 hours. The infection rate has come down to 0.12 percent for the first time.

Last week, the restaurant deadline was extended till 10 pm and bars were allowed to open from 12 noon to 10 pm. The deadline for the markets and malls being opened on a trial basis for two consecutive weeks has been extended again for a week. All markets, market complexes and malls will be open from 10 am to 8 pm.

Weekly markets have also been allowed to open on a market basis per MCD zone, like last week. However, all bars, restaurant owners and all shopkeepers will have to take special care of masks and social distancing. As before, public parks, gardens, golf clubs and outdoor yoga activities will also be allowed. The rules already issued regarding government and private offices will be effective. Only Group-A officers will be able to come 100 percent in government offices.

The government has now allowed only 50 percent attendance of officers and employees below Group-A in government offices. Private offices will also be able to run with 50 percent capacity. Delhi Metro and buses will continue to operate with 50 percent capacity, as before. At the same time, only two passengers will be allowed in auto-rickshaw, taxi and quick service. Whereas, five people will be able to travel in Max Cab and 11 people in RTV.

Last week’s rule regarding religious places will also be applicable. Religious places will remain open, but devotees will not be allowed to go there. Apart from this, all schools, colleges and educational institutions will remain closed.

The DDMA order states that online and distance learning will be allowed. Social, political and religious gatherings will also be completely banned for now.

Swimming pools, stadiums and sports complexes will also remain closed. However, they can be used for organising or training related to national or international sports. Cinema halls, multiplexes, entertainment parks, water parks, auditoriums, assemblies and spas have also not been allowed to operate. This order of the Delhi government will be effective from Monday, 28 June, and will be applicable till 5 am on 5 July.
